The chanters stop and zip their coats
The candles put out
The congregation stands
Waiting
Waiting
Even the little children stand, silent
Silence
Behind the wall a flickering light begins
And while all is dark and quiet
The Priest begins to chant
A thrill runs through the people
He is risen!
He is Risen Indeed!

The darkness begins to fade
As light is passed from candle to candle
Half in Russian, half in English,
The people begin to chant.
Out into the darkness we bring our light

He is Risen!
