Divided Forces
Divided Forces
"Either we all hang together, or we all hang separately" -Benjamin Franklin
We are trying to fight this fight against the evil of abortion, and we've divided and broken ourselves up to the point of destruction. Why do you think the pro-aborts are gaining ground?! Why do you think we keep backtracking?! Its like the Scottish proverb:
Me and my country against the world
Me and my clan against the country
Me and my family against the clan
Me and my brother against my family
Me against my brother
except its more like
Me and the Catholics against abortion
Me and the protestants against the Catholics
Me and my family against the Protestants
Me and my sister against my family
Me against my sister
I was thinking about this and it reminded me of this story.
There was a father who had seven sons. His sons were always fighting against each other. The family couldn't go against the outside because they were falling apart on the inside. One day the farmer got together his sons. He handed each of them a short stick and told them to break it in half. This they all did easily. Then he handed them a bundle of sticks tightly bound together and told them to break it. But no matter how they sweated and strained no one could break the bundle. The father then told them, when you fight against each other and divide amongst yourselves, you are like the lone stick, and you are easy to break. But when you bind yourselves together, you can hold against the hardest fight.
Guys, we are separating and dividing ourselves, but all of us have the same ultimate goal. We are literally tearing each other apart.
We are making it so easy for the enemy! But all of us hold the same ultimate goal, however, we choose to approach it. We all want to stop the killing of babies. Whether we do this by heartbeat bills, or by abolition. Whether we stand with signs in front of the abortion mills or we protest at the capitol, whether we pray or act, whether we Speak to thousands or to tens. Whether we speak at conferences or on street corners.
If we want to win this fight we are going to have to bind forces and go out into this fight together.
Imagine you are a lieutenant going out to battle. You begin to argue with your soldiers. Then you turn against your brother,
and instead of fighting against the enemy, you argue with your brother on how to use the sword. You let the enemy sneak into your camp; take away your resources, capture your children, and deceive your family. Would you say you were a good Lieutenant? Of course not! You have betrayed the fight in your over preoccupation with your brother.
Do you see what I am trying to explain? We have divided our forces against each other. Rather than fighting against the enemy, we are shooting our alliances. If America had decided to fight against Britain while fighting against Germany do you think we would have won? Of course not. We only win when we bind ourselves together.
It is the same now.
It is time to bind ourselves tightly together and go out against the enemy together. Separated we are easily broken and repressed.
Together we conquer.
