Captain Ahab Rousing the Men for the White Whale: Moby Dick
Captain Ahab rousing the men for the White Whale
His white scar blazing and his Ivory leg thumping,
His eyes all afire, and his mouth fast working
All the men of the ship before him, high and low, old and young
The words begin uncorrelated, and the old Whalers remember
A time when Ahab was younger and madder,
A time when a white whale, Moby Dick, took his leg.
A time when his anger brought him to madness,
A time when a sailor was strapped to his bed,
And a time when a once mad man, was promoted to captain.
A time when the madness seemed dilated,
When the burning fire in his eyes was dimmed.
Yet back to the ship they know, and the spray they feel,
The captain rouses the spirits of man and sailor,
With spirits and words, he makes their hearts burn within them.
Hearkening for the White Whale, Moby Dick,
Roused with spirits, gold, and words.
The whalers pledge and drink to the death,
Of the legendary fierce White Whale: Moby Dick
The whale who tore the leg of Captain Ahab,
The whale who has torn many a limb from man,
The whale who has dashed many a ship to pieces
The whale with white top, and mottled white exterior
The whale with a mangled jaw, shaped like a sickle
The whale who brought the sickle of death to many an unfortunate whaler.
