Whom To Serve

 Who could serve the world

And the emptiness it offers

The sweetness of the LORD

It overwhelms all else

The shortness of laughter

Surrounded by its shame

Is nothing to the joy

Of proclaiming Jesus' name

Who could serve money

It serves only itself 

And money cannot fill the hole

If it’s for God Himself

The world leaves its seekers

Wasted on the wayside

Their only hope in straying far

To reach the narrow way

Who could serve themselves

As tempting as it is

The emptiness is loneliness

All grief is spent alone

Who could trust in these

When here is God Himself

Giving of Himself

To make a way for man

Loving man so deeply

That he gave His life

Just so man could be with Him

For all eternity
