Prince Rasselas Part 1
Prince Rasselas
In the Happy Valley
Where no Predators roam;
No danger arises, and all is provided,
And anything wanted is given.
Where water cascades,
Down rocky cliffs.
While goats and lambs play,
On moss covered rocks.
And the only way in,
Is an old Iron Gate.
Beyond which is Forest,
To dense to Tread.
And the old Iron Gate,
Is to strong to break.
Here all the princes,
Who wait to be King,
Are safely waiting, for their succession.
Of all these princes, in Happy Valley
None had ever wished to leave.
For they were taught, that those outside,
Were daily filled with misery;
And worked there lives away.
So no one missed the outside world;
That is,
Until Prince Rasselas.
He mourned that he had naught to long for,
In the pleasures of Happy Valley.
And all his pleasures were naught,
For he had nothing to long for.
So at length with the help of a servant,
He learned to long for the outside world.
And so his adventures began.
