Debating on the Division of Power
-the Berlin Conference-

Dividing a land that they do not own
Debating and arguing for pieces of land
Tearing and ripping the boundaries of old
Dividing a land already divided,
Casting aside the traditions of Natives,
Forgetting the homes that are positioned in countries,
Making new countries, tearing up old,
Putting warring tribes together, and peaceful ones apart
For three months debating the places of lines,
Lines to break up a continent in 50,
From Germany to France, to the US and Belgium,
All over Europe, and other countries to,
They argue and debate over the powers they hold.
Forgetting they take what is unrightfully theirs.
Whether stolen by stealth or taken by force,
A Continent divided is once more divided.
Pain is created, death is divulged,
All in the space of three months of debate,
By power-hungry, power holding, men who discuss power.
