Meditation on Matthew 8

Through The Depths

Face towards Jesus

Locked into His gaze 

Feel but do not fear the waves

Though your eyes seek Him

In watery depths

Know and trust His love

Response

Flesh and bone respond to your commands

Who am I to ignore them?

Wind and sea obey without delay

How could I postpone what you request?

All the earth bends and creates to be what you declare 

Yet I the one you call your own

I who you sanctify

I who you cleanse

I?

Slow to respond

Quick to delay

Sluggish to change-

Forgive me
