How many times must I say "forgive!"
How many times will you refuse,
You say "How many times must I forgive?
Once, twice, thrice, say, seven times?"
Yet I say seventy times seven,
Or in other words forever.

How many times must I say "forgive!"
How many times were you forgiven?
More than you could ever count.
But you refuse to even pardon,
The  smallest thing that someone does.
You won't forgive the youngest child,
Who bumps you slightly in the hall.

How many times were you forgiven?
So many times forgive your brother.
