Pride and Prejudice Letters to Grandmama

Dear Grandmama,
I am so happy now I can barely breathe.   But first I must give you some background. Lady Catherine, Mr. Darcy's aunt visited us, she was very rude and finally asked me to speak with her in the garden. Than she preposterously demanded to know whether or not Mr. Darcy had proposed to me, or rather, if we were engaged.  I didn't like to answer her, because I wished I could say yes.  But at last she got me to say that we were not.  Then she demanded me to promise I would not agree to marry him, I refused.  The next day, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley came to visit.  Me and Darcy, Jane and Bingley, and Kitty went on a walk.  Kitty soon left though and we were soon separated from Jane and Bingley.  After some silence, I made up my mind to thank Darcy for what he did for our family.  He told me that it was all for me, and that his feelings were unchanged for me.  I told him that mine were so different they were the opposite.   I was so happy I couldn't even look at him.  But I could tell by his voice that he was extremely happy to.  When we came home, Mr. Darcy asked permission of my father to marry me.  Father consented but then had to have me convince him that I loved him.  Oh how I do, I cannot stand to be without him.  He is here now, I hope to see you at the wedding!

-Elizabeth
